2-day Free Ride course in Macugnaga

Do you want to learn the basics of off-piste skiing or improve your technique to be able to safely tackle the particular characteristics of skiing on fresh snow?

Thanks to the Alpine Guides of Macugnaga you will have this unmissable opportunity: two days of course dedicated to free riding in the company of Fabio Iacchini, national instructor of alpine guides and ski instructor.

The program includes a very important, fundamentally technical part, made up of preparatory exercises for adapting classic on-piste skiing techniques to off-piste conditions.
To achieve our fundamental objective, the skill and experience of Fabio Iacchini, national Alpine Guide instructor and ski instructor.

A fundamental section is then dedicated to teaching the primary operations for self-rescue in avalanches and dedicated to the use of ARVA devices.

Daily program:

• 1st day: explanation and tests of basic research with the ARVA. Aspects of skiing technique, preparatory exercises for off-piste.
• 2nd day: descent technique. Free ride descents.

The program may undergo variations due to environmental causes.

Necessary material: equipment and clothing for skiing on the slopes (ski mountaineering equipment is also fine), poles with a wide washer for ungroomed snow, helmet (strongly recommended) mandatory for minors, back protector (strongly recommended), backpack medium capacity (30 litres), mask/glasses.

Harnesses and carabiners, provided by the organization, if necessary.
