AitneMed is an association made up of ski instructors and expert hiking guides authorized to lead you in volcanic and mountainous environments.

Thanks to AitneMed's excursions and multisport proposals you will be able to have direct experience of the Sicilian territory: the guides will put at your disposal all their knowledge of the territory and great experience in accompaniment to allow you to explore the lesser-known and more fascinating sites of the Etna park, of the Sicilian reliefs and the islands of the Archipelago.

Our activity is varied and adaptable to everyone's needs. We suggest:

• Trekking on Etna and the Aeolian Islands - from technically undemanding walks lasting just a few hours to those involving the whole day, which are also more complex from a technical point of view, up to multi-day treks with a stop in a refuge or bivouac in a tent.
• Weekly excursions and routes on the rental MTBs in the centre,
• Freeride skiing or ski touring trips
• Sports climbing courses and tests
• Mountaineering.

The association never stops! It offers activities throughout the year, starting from simple trekking on foot or by mountain bike, up to purely winter activities to be carried out in the snow.

Discovering the Etna volcano in winter can reserve great and unexpected surprises for mountain and snow sports lovers.

Given the strong bond with our land, we would like to tell you a little about what the experience of climbing Etna represents. Although along the simplest itinerary, this path is very original and constitutes a journey of symbolic value for those arriving in Sicily.

The highest volcano in Europe is a unique adventure of its kind for trekking enthusiasts, because it involves passages within splendid landscapes, with incredible morphologies due to the very volcanic nature of those areas.

You will walk surrounded by slopes made up of lava sand, in a "lunar" context that combines crater cones and geological architecture built by past eruptions.

Trekking on the Etna volcano - which can be done in all seasons, allows you to combine the beautiful views of the coast and the charm of the mountains, and appreciate the most beautiful sites from a landscape point of view. The guides' proposals include routes of great beauty such as the visit to the Gelo cave or the more challenging tour of the volcano which takes two days and takes the hiker to an altitude of 2000 metres.

Trekking to the Aeolian Islands - trekking within the islands that make up the archipelago is another surprising experience, also characterized by the volcanic environment with the two, still active, Stromboli and Volcano.

The technological Canadian Rocky Mountain mountain bikes from AitneMed, inaugurated the cycling season in 2004 which, since then, have become a staple among the activities of the center.

In addition to simple daily bike rental, you can take advantage of various services including: bike transfers directly to the place of interest, organization of guided daily excursions to all the mountains and nature reserves of Sicily, organization of weekly tours that include trekking , mountain biking and visiting the most beautiful art cities in Sicily.

The point where you can collect your Ariel bicycle is located at the Ariel Refuge, located on the slopes of Etna, near the volcano's high mountain track. The refuge constitutes an excellent starting point, as it makes it easy to undertake distinct routes suitable for mountain biking, which branch off from this place for many kilometers of off road of various levels.

AitneMed also has a rental office in France, which allows excursions within the Belleville valley, the rental point is located at Place Caròn in Val Thorens.
