Centro Lao Action Raft Canoa invites you to try the descent of the Lao river using an inflatable canoe, which can be single or double. You will experience the thrill of descending the river independently and safely always followed by one of our qualified guides.

This activity is a partly aquatic and partly mountaineering sport which consists of following downhill the path of small mountain streams enclosed between high rock walls, overcoming obstacles encountered with specific techniques. These can be, for example, the waterfalls, the potholes of the giants dug by the water into the rock, the toboggans (natural slides smoothed by the erosion) and the jumps.

This sport dates back to 1978 and was first practiced in the French Alps. Fans of parachute and ski stunts, better known as "Nky-divers", were getting tired of waiting for their airplanes and repeating tedious parachute folding procedures over and over again. So they tried one day to take their parachutes and jump off the slopes of the mountains as if they were birds. The new sport quickly spread to the entire Alpine climbing community.
